Good Morning 2/10/10
Good morning, I’m glad to see Cienna Madrid is back as a staff writer at The Stranger, she’s charming and a damn good at what she does (this news is announced in A. Birch Steen’s column, and I’d link but the paper is out before their website has been updated to this week’s edition, odd). Looking forward, I wish I could be in two places at once tomorrow to see the Defriending Cancer show at the Moore Theatre with Isaac Brock, James Mercer and other comedy giants. Alas, I will be learning new songs with my band. Well wishes to the Murder City Devils for a good time in the snow for their East Coast shows. For a romantic Valentines Day, I am looking forward to SoSpunWeSpunWest’s DVD release party at the Rendezvous on Sunday 2/14. Their vastly disturbing/highly entertaining takes on the mendacity of infomercials, the joy of telethons, and ‘ganizing are delightful. They are geniuses (hear me Stranger?). Yesterday I played with Threadsy to put all social media in it’s place, or one place, and it’s highly distracting but very functional despite it’s occasional tardiness with delivery of all the instant news I didn’t really need to know instantaneously. That’s all, unless you count the opening of the Hard Rock Cafe in Seattle today. With this news, we are officially one step closer to becoming a City of Music like Austin, TX, that we so desire to be.
